Western Railway to build staircases next to or above escalators at 11 stations.

Mumbai: To ease commuter hardship, Western Railway has shortlisted 19 locations on 11 suburban stations to set up double-discharge staircase-cum-escalators which allow entry/exit from a station via a footover bridge. In a double-discharge facility, a staircase is built alongside or above an escalator and both connect to an FOB deck.
