School bus owners’ Association offers vehicles to BEST in exchange for monthly stipends
The School Bus Owners’ Association (SBOA) has offered 1,000 school buses to BEST in order to meet shortages on local routes during the early hours of the day. The offer is made in exchange for monthly stipends to the owners.
“After eight o’clock in the morning, school buses are free. To make optimal use of the resources, we have offered to provide around 1,0000 buses to BEST so they can make optimum use of available resources. This will also result in fewer vehicles on roads, especially in industrial hubs such as BKC and MIDC, as people will opt for public transport rather than rickshaw or taxi,” said Ramesh Manian of SBOA.
