Most phone thefts in Kurla-Mulund belt

Mumbai: Watch your phone while travelling between Kurla-Mulund railway stations. This belt of Central Railway reported the most phone thefts (nearly 2,500) in the first eight months of this year. Nearly 17,000 mobile thefts were reported on Mumbai railways and the value of the stolen phones was over Rs 29 crore. Although thefts reduced by 23% this year, compared to last year, the detection rate was still very low. Only 9% cases were solved by railway police in January-August 2019.
