Operation Khataara: Clunkers may go to unused public parking lots

70% of such lots in 23 wards vacant; proposal will be placed before BMC commissioner Praveen Pardeshi this week.

With space crunch in the city’s junkyards proving to be a hurdle in the drive against clunkers, the BMC is planning to propose temporarily dumping them at the city’s 45 unused public parking lots (PPLs).
