Online darshan, clay Ganpatis make fest eco-friendly this year

Mumbai: Prominent Ganpati mandals across the city have fallen in line with the state order to forgo large idols for Ganeshotsav 2020. The 10-day festival is from August 22 to September 1.

From Khetwadi to Kalachowkie, Lalbaug to Anjirwadi, Tilak Nagar to Borivli, and even Navi Mumbai, Plaster of Paris idols that once towered at 20-35ft will be downsized to 3-4ft moortis carved from soluble clay.
