Mumbai: No more discount, AC train fares to rise by 10% from June 1

Mumbai: From June 1, the fares of AC local train operating between Virar and Churchgate will increase by up to 10%, as the railway ministry has decided to withdraw the inaugural discount offered after its launch in 2017. “Due to this decision, the revised base fare of single journey will be 1.0 times the fare of first-class travel on a local train,” said a Western Railway (WR) spokesperson.
