Maharashtra: Fruit, veggie supplies at APMCs down 53 per cent

The lockdown has resulted in the market arrivals of fruits and vegetables in the state’s wholesale APMC markets plummeting by almost 53% compared to 2019, shows data from the Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board (MSAMB) This reveals the extent of supply chain disruptions during the lockdown and the losses to farmers despite efforts by the government to streamline transport for essentials.
