Kalyan-Dombivali turns biggest hotspot with 9000 cases; worst is yet to come

Municipal Commissioner Vijay Suryavanshi says not shoring up healthcare infrastructure in the early stages of pandemic was a mistake.

Kalyan-Dombivali is illustrative of how unpredictable a pandemic can be. Till May 6, it looked like its municipal corporation had everything under control. Its Covid-19 tally was only 233 as the BMC crossed the 9,000 mark.
