Election Commission: Toll-free, WhatsApp numbers soon for polls

Mumbai: Election Commission of India on Thursday took stock of Maharashtra’s preparedness for elections in a month. Deputy commissioner Umesh Singh held a meeting with the state election office review the situation and ensure the code of conduct is followed once is it announced. Officials said Sinha told the office to co-ordinate with departments like excise and income-tax to report and stop activities that violate the code.
