EC warns against fake messages about EVMs

The Election Commission’s Social Media Monitoring and Controlling Cell (SMMCC) has warned against spreading of fake news and rumours about Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT). It has asked the cell members to look into such complaints and prevent them from spreading on social media. The instructions came after the EV observed a few social media posts that were spreading rumours about the EVMs.
