Coronavirus Outbreak: SevenHills turned into Mumbai’s largest quarantine facility

Thirteen months after the BMC shut down SevenHills Hospital in Marol over nonpayment of dues, the hospital will reopen today- as the city’s biggest quarantine facility – even as two fresh cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Mumbai and Thane. The hospital, with 700 beds, ran into financial trouble in 2017 and was shut down by the BMC in February last year over non-payment of property tax amounting to Rs 9 crore.
