Central Railway comes up with a quick fix to improve its punctuality: Motormen at both ends of local

Mumbai: Central Railway has two motormen travelling on a single train each on either end of a 12-coach rake – to ensure the turnaround time at Asangaon station is reduced from eight to two minutes. This experiment, whcih was kicked of recently, has helped improve the frequency of trains during morning peak hours. Meanwhile, CR has also eased speed restictions near Kalyan and Thane during peak hours, thereby saving at least three minutes of travel time during rush hour.
