BMC wants local leaders to provide ‘bridge’ to slums

Community elders and volunteers will help municipality reach areas that it is unable to.

In a change of strategy, the BMC has decided to work with community leaders and volunteers, especially those with influence among slum-dwellers, to enhance enforcement in containment zones and also to improve the doubling rate of positive cases from the current 10 days to two weeks by May 17.
