BMC to shut small isolation and quarantine centres

Civic body to bank on jumbo centres for now; says it will acquire the smaller centres again if the need arises.

With Mumbai’s Covid-19 cases doubling at 75 days and the average daily growth rate dipping to less than q per cent, the BMC has decided to shut down several smaller quarantine and isolation centres, also known as Covid Care Centres (CCCs). It has now decided that each of its 24 administrative wards will have only one quarantine and one isolation centre.
