37 civic schools are crumbling, literally

Iron beams and bamboo sticks are being used to support ceilings of these schools in south Mumbai, Bandra and Santa Cruz: five school buildings have been declared dangerous and need to be razed soon.

The BMC’s school Infrastructure Cell (SIC) has erected temporary load bearing proppings such as iron beams and bamboo sticks to support the ceiling of 37 dilapidated civic school buildings.
