COVID CHALLENGES THIS MONSOON

As we all grapple with the COVID-19 Pandemic, Monsoon is already upon us and the inevitable challenges it brings to Mumbai have to be faced, be it flooding or the ailments that come with the rains!

With everyone’s focus squarely on COVID, common Monsoon related diseases like Malaria, Dengue, Leptospirosis, etc. are in danger of being overlooked and underestimated.

That’s why we have updated our Health and COVID page to also include general health tips and information that is relevant to you during this Monsoon. Visit the page and see the Health Tips and other information on healthy living as well as know about Adult Vaccinations.

Aside from this, just as we do every year, we are putting up the chart of the days of very High Tides for June to September, compiled by MCGM from the Tide Table Book 2020. Any High Tide over 4.5 metres can cause flooding if accompanied by even moderate rainfall.

It’s important to remember that the period of caution is actually 2 hours before and after the time mentioned in the chart. We recommend Mumbaikars to take note of these dates and keep this information with you.

For your ready use, we have also put up the list of the updated Telephone Numbers of the Ward-wise Disaster Management Control Rooms. For emergencies, such as building collapse, tree falling, flooding, etc (other than COVID related, for which there are separate COVID Control Room Numbers) call your respective Ward Disaster Control Room for assistance.
