ANNUAL TRYST WITH THE MONSOON

2022: The COVID-19 Pandemic is on the ebb, and the Monsoon is upon us with the predictable challenges that will have to be faced throughout the country, and for Mumbai the flooding in particular!

As we do every year for Mumbai, we are putting up the chart of the days of very High Tides for June to September (both months included), compiled by BMC from the Tide Table Book 2022

In Mumbai, any High Tide over 4.5 metres can cause flooding if accompanied by even moderate rainfall.

Most importantly, please remember that the period of caution is actually 2 hours before and after the time mentioned in the chart. We strongly recommend to Mumbaikars to take note of these dates and for ready reference, keep this chart with yourselves.

Apart from the issue of flooding, in Mumbai the Monsoon also brings in its wake, emergencies such as building collapse, tree falling etc (other than COVID related for which there are separate COVID Control Room Numbers ) call your respective Ward Disaster Control Room for assistance.

For your ready use, we have also put up the list of the updated telephone numbers of the Ward-wise Disaster Management Control Rooms.
