How to get Permits for Outdoor Activities in a Public Garden or Park?

The Garden & Trees Department is an Administrative Department of MCGM that issues various Permits/Permissions in consultation with and advice from other technical advisory departments like the Fire Brigade, Maintenance, and Engineering Department etc.

In case a Public Garden or Playground is used as a venue for functions or meetings, then depending on the category of the function or meeting, Religious Permissions, Social Permissions, Political Permissions, Election Permissions, or Film Shooting Permissions are required to be obtained.

 

Who issues permits for outdoor activities?

  • The Garden & Tree Department of the Ward in which the activity is to occur issues permits for outdoor activities.

 

How to Apply for a Permit from the Garden & Tree Department?

  • The citizen needs to visit the CFC (Citizen Facilitation Centre) of the concerned Ward
  • The Applicant must fill and submit a completed and signed application form, along with required documents and fees.

 

What happens at the CFC and the Garden & Tree Department?

  • The CFC sends the application is to the Garden & Tree Department
  • The application is processed by the Horticulture Assistant
  • After site inspection and approval from sanctioning authority, the required Permit is issued to the applicant.

 

The following are required for issuing Permission on Municipal Gardens & Playgrounds for the following Categories:

Permission for a Religious Event:

Permission for a Social Event:

 Application form duly filled and signed by the Applicant.

 Application on the Letter Head of the respective Applicant.

 NOC from Chief Fire Officer (CFO) is required only in case of Exhibition and Pandals.

 

Permission for a Political Event:

 NOC from Joint Commissioner of Police Traffic.

Permission for an Election Related Event:

Permission for Film Shooting:

Approving Authority Horticulture Assistant / Assistant Engineer Maintenance for permission, Beautification & its renewal.
Processing Duration Seven days (per scrutiny level) for all other applications from the date of submission of valid application along with required documents.
Application Scrutiny Levels Single level for Religious / Social / Political / Election / Film Shooting / Sports – Permission
Two levels scrutiny for all other applications

 

Fees Applicable:

Scrutiny/Permit Fee payable at the time of submission of New Application/Permits
