WR to replace old, rickety footbridges in a year
The collapse of a footbridge at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in March, which killed six people and left 35 seriously injured, has sped up an old plan by the Western Railway to replace rickety, old-technology bridges on its suburban section with wider, sturdier and more modern ones. WR aims to have them ready within a year.
