Traffic police chalk out steps to decongest Andheri station
Setting up auto stands, improving bus facilities, renovating footpaths and widening roads are part of the plan In the months to come, commuters coming out of Andheri railway station will not have to deal with the chaos caused by haphazardly parked autos and buses, narrow footpaths with the encroachments leaving no space to walk on and congested roads leading to the station resulting in traffic jams. Keeping in view these problems, the Mumbai traffic police conducted a survey to find ways and means to improve traffic situation outside Andheri station.
Based on the findings of the survey, the traffic department under its ‘specific area traffic improvement plan’ has suggested setting up auto stands, improving bus facilities, renovating footpaths, covering manholes and concretising and widening roads.
