Spell out nullah cleaning, Santacruz pumping station plans: HC to BMC
Will people residing in the Khar-Juhu belt get a reprieve from flooding this monsoon? The Bombay high court on Thursday directed the BMC to spell out the measures it plans to undertake to clear nullahs, stormwater drains in the area and make Guzdar Bandh water pumping station in Santacruz operational.
A division bench of Justices Abhay Oka and Riyaz Chagla asked the BMC to file its affidavit by Friday. The court was hearing an application by the Guzdar Bandh Residents’ Trust, which had originally filed a PIL in the matter in 2001.
