City dwellers can soon look forward to an unfettered view of the sea from the 4.75km promenade starting from Worli Chowpatty to Mahim Reti Bunder. The ambitious project, to be undertaken by the public works department (PWD), has got an in-principle approval for its phase zero at Dadar beach, from Dyaneshwar Udyan to Pandurang Naik Marg. Pursued by Shiv Sena MP Rahul Shewale and cleared by PWD minister Chandrakant Data Patil, this phase will soon kick-start at an estimated project cost of Rs. 10.60 crore. The tenders have been invited to appoint a contractor and the process will be completed before the election code of conduct kicks in.
