Operation Khataara: State, BMC’s duty to act on complaints about dead vehicles
A toll-free number and a dedicated email account for such complaints, besides allowing residents to report abandoned vehicles through SMS and WhatsApp, all before Sept 19: HC.
The Bombay High Court on Tuesday endorsed what Mumbai Mirror has been saying all these weeks about vehicles left to rot in the lanes of this space-crunched city. A division bench of Justices Abhay Oka and Riyaz Chagla yesterday asked the state government and the BMC to form a grievance redressal mechanism which will ensure complaints about abandoned vehicles are addressed, and offenders don’t get away lightly.
