Mumbai sees 5,000 gastro cases so far this year

The city has recorded over 5,000 gastroenteritis, stomach infections mostly caused by contaminated food and water, so far this year, according to figures released by the BMC’s public health department.

The H/East ward, which has jurisdiction over Andheri East, Jogeshwari East topped the undesirable list with 525 cases, followed by L ward (Kurla) at 405 cases. Ghatkopar, Vikhroli and Bhandup also reported several gastro cases.
