Mumbai records most road mishaps in Maharashtra; fatalities witness 20% dip
Of the total number of 9,096 accidents that occurred across the state in the first quarter of 2019, the highest number — 782 — took place on Mumbai’s roads, according to official figures.
However, the city witnessed a 20% drop in road fatalities compared to the same period last year, revealed state-wide road accident data.
Across Mumbai, 99 people were killed and 769 got injured in road accidents between January and March 2019. Across the state, 434 people died and 3,434 others got injured in the same period.
