Mumbai: Some housing societies violate ICMR norms in seeking Covid-free certs from visiting kin

Worrisome incidents are emerging of housing societies demanding Covid-free certificates even from relatives of building residents who wish to come visiting or to live with them. Recently, a young man from the western suburbs drove to his sister’s place in Navi Mumbai and brought his mother home with him. When they arrived at the society gate, his mother home with him. When they arrived at the society gate, his mother would not be allowed in-unless she could furnish a ‘Covid-free certificate’. The society management did not relent, so he had to drive her back to his sister’s house.
