Mumbai: Every ward now has an ACP as a nodal officer to enforce lockdown in hotspots

To keep a tight check on containment zones, the BMC and the police have appointed nodal officers in each of the 24 wards for better implementation of lockdown rules. Officials said it has been observed that in many containment zones, people have been observed to move around to shop for essentials, thus posting a risk to others. BMC officials claim that the civic body has taken responsibility to make arrangements for the delivery of essential commodities in containment zones and the police need to ensure that people strictly follow lockdown rules.
