Let us look at it this way – currently, 100% of port land is being used commercially

The Mumbai Port Trust’s draft plan for developing the city’s eastern seafront has come in for criticism from town planners, urban development experts, and environmentalists over too much emphasis on commercial development and reclamation. In an exclusive interview on Wednesday with Mumbai Mirror, Mumbai Port Trust chairman Sanjay Bhatia defended the plan and said that land will be reclaimed only after environment clearances are received. As for commercial exploitation, he said all for port land currently is commercial and the idea is to carve a part of it to help the city.
