HC tells BMC to restore pond it ‘illegally’ turned into a park
Over a decade after a100-year-old pond in Kandivli was levelled by the BMC and converted into a park, the Bombay high court has said that the corporation will have to restore it.
A division bench of Justice Abhay Oka and Justice Riyaz Chagla directed the BMC to place on record the present status of the land.
“The lake will have to be restored,” said the judges and scheduled the matter for further hearing on June 28.
