Govt to appoint nine-member panel to study parking, traffic woes in Mumbai
The state government on Wednesday informed the Bombay high court (HC) that it will appoint a nine-member committee of senior bureaucrats to look into all the issues related to scarcity of parking space and traffic congestion in the city.
According to an affidavit submitted by advocate general Ashutosh Kumbhakoni, the committee will comprise senior officials from the traffic police, transport department, Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMDRA), Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL), BEST undertaking along with an official nominated by the Centre.
