Decongestion project to begin at Bandra station
The century-old Bandra (West) railway station — a Grade-I structure with its blend of Victorian Gothic and vernacular architecture, bearing a proud UNESCO heritage tag — is all set to bid adieu to notorious traffic snarls.
The much delayed Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s remodelling project for the station, proposed to cost Rs 93 lakh, is finally kicking off. By the end of it, Bandra will set an example for free vehicular and pedestrian movement at otherwise crowded local train stations in Mumbai.
