BMC manages to gets only 50% of beds it needed from private hospitals

As hospitals across the city stretch themselves to care for Covid patients, some of the biggest private hospitals have failed to step up to the task. Ten days ago, the state government has issued orders to reserve 80 per cent of all operational beds in private hospitals for Covid-19 and non-Covid treatment, expecting to get around 3,500 beds in total. However, it has managed to get only 1,500 beds in private facilities so far.
