BMC gets cracking on retailers stocking single-use plastic bags
Mumbai: A day after the BMC announced the revival of the ban on single-use plastic, its men collected Rs 55,000 in fines from 11 shopkeepers and hawkers.
The action came after state environment minister Aaditya Thackeray announced on Friday that he aims to make Maharashtra free of single-use plastic by May 1. He was replying to supplementaries during question hour in the legislative council.
