How to Get an Heirship Certificate?
This certificate is issued for a limited purpose of receiving Government dues such as Govt. Provident Fund, Gratuity etc. to the legal heir of a deceased employee of the State and Central Govt. under the Maharashtra Treasury Rules, 1968, Rule 359
You can apply and collect the Heirship Certificate from the Concerned Window at the Mumbai City Collectorate at Old Custom House, Ground floor, Fort Mumbai-01, or the Mumbai Suburbs Collectorate at the Administrative Building, 10th floor, Government Colony, Opp. Chetana College, Bandra (East), Mumbai-400 051. Here, you can also contact the Tehsildar in case of complaint redressal.
The application should be made in the prescribed form. Along with a Court Fee Stamp of Rs.2/- on the application
The following are documents you need to obtain an Heirship Certificate:
- Xerox copy of the first & last page of the ration card
- Affidavit duly affirmed on stamp paper of Rs.20/-
- Death certificate
- Service Record from the office of the deceased employee
After you submit the application for the Heirship Certificate you can collect the certificate in 15 Days.
