BMC to collect compost from bulk generators and give it to farmers

Mumbai: In a first, the BMC plans to collect compost generated by residential societies and commercial establishments and hand it over to farmers who arrive in the city for weekly markets to sell vegetables and fruits. Compost is added to soil as a fertilizer to increase farm output.
