BMC cements plan to use plastic in roads
To use material from plasticban; changing plants for mixing 7% plastic with tar.
The BMC seems to be heading towards making good use of 60,000 kg plastic seized from raids after a ban was imposed in June last year. Municipal Commissioner Praveen Pardeshi has cleared a plan to six seven per cent plastic with asphalt (also called tar) and binding agent called bitumen to build roads. Pardeshi told Mirror that the roads department has been asked to alter the tender conditions for all ongoing and upcoming projects for asphalting roads.
