Bikers take to the streets to demand compulsory helmets for children
Over 100 bikers from different biking clubs in the city gathered on the streets to promote road safety among Mumbaikars. Held at Lokhandwala Back Road, Andheri, bikers were all set in their gears, and the group rode towards Carter Road, Bandra.
The idea of the rally was to highlight the importance of helmets for children and address the issue of unsafe roads. The event also included a signature campaign, where people pledged their support to ride safely.
Talking about the initiative, Siddhant Mohite, the organiser of the event, said, “Helmets should be made compulsory for them as they’re as important as raincoats during monsoon and caps during summers.
The other reason to conduct the rally was to highlight the poor condition of roads in the city. We deserve a lot more than what we are currently getting.” Flaunting his helmet, eight-year-old Gaurav Pradhan, who came with his father, said, “I always wear a helmet when I am on the bike with my father. I will ask all my friends to do the same.”
