A recipe for disaster

Mumbai Port Trust’s master plan for the Eastern Waterfront is a disaster. Instead of making provisions for open spaces, the area earmarked for them has been dramatically reduced. And the vacant area that would actually be accessible to the public has been reduced even further. To make matters worse, MbPT is planning to reclaim land from the sea to create a garden! There is land that is available already for this, but it is being diverted for commercial exploitation.
