Railways-Bombardier deal hits logjam over prices

Tender submitted by supplier of AC local electrical components comparatively higher than another company’s.

A tussle has broken out between the Integral Coach Factory and rake supplier Bombardier Transportation over the price of proposed partially air-conditioned local trains to be supplied to Mumbai.

According to an initial plan announced by Railway Minister Piyush Goyal a few months ago, 39 new AC local trains were meant for the city.
