Mumbai locals, Met department team up to issue live updates on train status in monsoon

This monsoon, you might get more clarity during inclement weather on the operational status of your local trains on the Central Railway (CR) line. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) is setting up weather monitoring stations inside stations on the network, which will relay hourly updates on rainfall to other government agencies.

All railway officials from the general manager to station masters and the motormen will be updated with the latest on the weather through live updates based on which they will restrict train movement.
