LBS Marg and CSMT may soon look like NY City

The city will soon have a pedestrian-safe road with broad carriageways, consistently formed pavements and walkways throughroad medians. As part of an MoU signed in 2015 between the state government and New York-based Bloomerg Philanthropies, the BM is working with the international charitable organisation on a 10 km stretch on LBS Marg from Gandhi Nagar junction in Vikhroli to BKC junction or Equinox. Work on a 2-km stretch is underway for a 10.5 m-wide carriageway, 3 m-wide pavement and wheelchair-friendly pedestrian crossings.
