So far, six FIRs filed against autos plying without license in Mumbai

Continuing its crackdown against autorickshaws plying illegally in the western suburbs without mandatory permits, the Borivali Regional Transport Office (RTO) has filed six FIRs in the last three days.

“The FIRs are against errant drivers, who were found to be driving autorickshaws that have completed their mandated 16 years and have been scrapped by the transport department. Most scrapped autos ply illegally without license and we have been cracking a whip against such autos,” said Ravi Gaikwad, head of Borivali RTO, adding that the drive will continue as it causes fear in the minds of such errant auto drivers.
