6 lakh vehicles enter Mumbai daily, over 55% via Vashi, Dahisar

Mumbai: While 46.8% of commuters in the city travel by local trains, the number of vehicles entering Mumbai daily on weekdays has increased to nearly 6 lakh, up from 5.65 lakh in 2016, the latest traffic count at the toll nakas shows. Of these, 56% of the vehicles come through just two toll posts – Dahisar on Western Express highway (28%) and Vashi on Sion-Panvel Highway (28%).
