How to get a Maharashtra Prevention of Food Adulteration (MPFA) License?

The Health Department is an administrative department of MCGM that issues MPFA (Maharashtra Prevention of Food Adulteration) license in consultation with and advice from other technical advisory departments like, Health, Engineering, etc. In view of this it is necessary for Establishments to obtain necessary licenses from the Heath department before starting manufacturing, storage or trade of any commodity / activity.

The application must be received from the establishment three months prior to starting the activity. Commodities / activities including eating house, restaurants, manufacturing drugs, medical shops, condiments, aerated water, ice factories, etc. fall under this license category.

Who issues a MPFA (Maharashtra Prevention of Food Adulteration) License?

  • The Medical Health Officer (Health Department) of the concerned Ward issues a MPFA (Maharashtra Prevention of Food Adulteration) License

How to Apply for a MPFA (Maharashtra Prevention of Food Adulteration) License?

  • Visit the Citizen Facilitation Center (CFC) of the Ward nearest to your establishment
  • Fill and submit a Health License Form-C, completed and signed along with required documents and fees at the CFC.

 What happens at the CFC?

  • The application is assigned to and processed by Department Head (MoH) of Health Department at the concerned Ward.
  • After site inspection and approval of the application, the scheduled fees are collected and the license is issued to the applicant.

 

The following are the different documents required to obtain a MPFA (Maharashtra Prevention of Food Adulteration) License:
