Fire Safety Checklist for Buildings

Ensuring preparedness for fires is of prime importance for all buildings, especially residential ones. A combined effort is required on the part of the owner, the occupants, and the fire department, in order maintain fire safety.

 

To help the property owners and occupants ensure that their building complies with all the relevant fire safety norms, the Directorate of Fire Services of the Government of Maharashtra, has issued a comprehensive check list that covers structural and usage details of the building; as well as the presence of active fire prevention and protection systems and equipment, in addition to information on the awareness and implementation of fire protection and emergency response measures.
